Tomás is a psychiatrist dedicated to Old Age Psychiatry and Dementia Care. He has participated in the pilot stages of the Chilean Dementia Plan. His research interests are dementia care, implementation of memory units, and psychopharmacology in the elderly.
Tomás received his medical school training from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile. He then received his psychiatry degree at the same university. He also has a neuropsychology diploma, a psychotherapy diploma, and a psychogeriatrics diploma. He has a Master’s degree in Neuropsychopharmacology from NEI. He is Senior Atlantic Fellow for Brain Health in the Global Brain Health Insititute, Trinity College Dublin.
He is a member of the director board of the International Psychogeriatric Association and chair of the Early Career Researcher Network. He is the founder and leader of the Psychogeriatric Taskforce in the Chilean Psychiatry and Neurology Society
He is currently working in the Memory and Neuropsychiatry Clinic at the Hospital del Salvador, Santiago, Chile, as a clinician and a researcher. and participate in Braintlat as a researcher, collaborator and advisor
