The Latin American Brain Health Institute (BrainLat) at Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez is opening a call for a research assistant to join its interdisciplinary research team.
The position is aimed at candidates interested in supporting research activities at the intersection of brain health, social and environmental exposome research, epidemiology, biomarkers, omics, aging, and dementia. The selected candidate will provide support to a working group focused on understanding how contextual, social, environmental, biological, and population-level factors shape brain health and brain aging in Latin America.
Position overview
The selected candidate will support the activities of a BrainLat working group focused on exposome research and brain health. The role will involve contributing to the development of scientific manuscripts, supporting data analysis workflows, preparing data visualizations and research outputs, assisting with the drafting of manuscript sections, coordinating working group meetings, preparing meeting minutes, and tracking the progress of ongoing manuscripts and related research activities.
The role offers the opportunity to participate in collaborative projects involving epidemiological, clinical, biomarker, omics, neuroimaging, geospatial, and population-based data.
Candidate profile
BrainLat is seeking applicants with the following profile:
- Research assistant with a Master’s (MSc, MPH, MA, or equivalent) or PhD degree in neuroscience, psychology, epidemiology, public health, data science, biomedical sciences, social sciences, or related fields. Prior experience supporting research projects, scientific publications, data analysis, scientific writing, or interdisciplinary collaborations.
- Interest in brain health, aging, dementia, social determinants of health and exposome research.
- Proficiency in Python, R, and/or MATLAB for data analysis and research applications.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work in collaborative scientific environments.
- Interest in contributing to interdisciplinary and international research projects focused on brain health in Latin America.
