Paulina Orellana, investigadora de BrainLat y candidata a Doctora en Neurociencias, se encuentra desarrollando su pasantía de investigación en Estados Unidos en el Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (CARD) del National Institutes of Health (NIH), bajo la supervisión del Dr. Andrew Singleton. Paulina investiga acerca del análisis de genomas de pacientes ReDLat de Chile.
El objetivo de esta pasantía es fortalecer las capacidades de investigación en epidemiología genética en la región. Paulina se está especializando en el análisis como Whole Genome Sequencing para estudiar datos genéticos de la población chilena en el contexto de la Cohorte RedLat.
Este esfuerzo potenciará su carrera como investigadora y generará avances en la formación de capacidades y el establecimiento de redes internacionales, beneficiando a la población latinoamericana.

Paulina Orellana, a BrainLat researcher and PhD candidate in Neurosciences, is currently undertaking her research internship in the United States at the Center for Alzheimer’s and Related Dementias (CARD) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), under the supervision of Dr. Andrew Singleton. Paulina is investigating genome analysis of ReDLat patients from Chile.
The objective of this internship is to strengthen research capacities in genetic epidemiology in the region. Paulina is specializing in Whole Genome Sequencing to study genetic data of the Chilean population within the context of the RedLat Cohort.
This effort will enhance her career as a researcher and generate advances in capacity building and the establishment of international networks, benefiting the Latin American population.
We hope this process is fruitful and opens many doors for future collaborations and new learning opportunities. From the laboratory, we wish Paulina great success, confident that her work and dedication will be a success.
