Faculty position: Universidad Adolfo Ibáñez invites applications for a full-time clinical faculty position to join the Latin American Brain Health Institute (BrainLat) at UAI. The selected candidate will contribute to the development and leadership of a new Clinical and Translational Dementia Research Unit, focused on precision diagnosis, clinical research, biomarkers, neuroimaging, and readiness for emerging disease-modifying therapies.

Background: BrainLat’s long-term mission is to empower a new generation of health leaders to break disciplinary boundaries and develop innovative approaches for promoting brain health and reducing the global impact of dementia. BrainLat brings together national and international expertise in neuroscience, dementia, clinical research, biomarkers, neuroimaging, computational methods, and public health, with a strong focus on Latin America and the Global South.

Profile: We seek a physician-scientist or clinically oriented researcher with expertise in dementia, neurodegenerative disorders, and clinical or translational research. The ideal candidate will have experience in the clinical assessment and differential diagnosis of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease, frontotemporal dementia, and related disorders. Experience with clinical trials, observational studies, biomarker-based diagnosis, neuroimaging interpretation, or disease-modifying therapies will be highly valued.

The successful candidate will help establish and lead BrainLat’s Clinical and Translational Dementia Research Unit, contribute to national and international research protocols, support participant recruitment and clinical phenotyping, and work closely with multidisciplinary teams including neurologists, geriatricians, neuropsychologists, biomarker specialists, imaging experts, data scientists, and research coordinators.

Minimum requirements:

Applicants must hold a medical degree and have a specialty in Neurology, Geriatrics, Psychiatry, or a related clinical field. Candidates should have experience in dementia diagnosis and clinical research. Training in Good Clinical Practice, previous participation in clinical trials, postgraduate training, or experience in international collaborative research will be considered an advantage.

*For foreign physicians, legal authorization to work in Chile and validation of medical degree and specialty according to Chilean regulations will be required.
