Whole-brain modeling of neurovascular pathways to neurodegeneration

This project aims to uncover the cardiovascular contributions in shaping brain health and risk for dementia. Using advanced MRI measures of vascular burden and neurovascular dynamics from the ReDLat cohort, we will build a next-generation whole-brain biophysical model that integrates both neural and vascular factors. This novel approach seeks to model and explain how modifiable vascular risk factors contribute to neurodegeneration, paving the way for more targeted interventions in Alzheimer’s and related disorders
