Biografía

Juan Pablo is an environmental engineer and physical education teacher, with a degree in education. His work focuses on how modifiable lifestyle behaviors shape brain health across the lifespan, with an emphasis on preventive approaches. He has collaborated on projects examining links between exercise, mental health, and executive functioning across different populations. Since his undergraduate training, he has been involved in research at the Physical Performance and Health Research Laboratory (IRyS) of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso (PUCV). There, he developed expertise in measuring daily-life movement behaviors using wearable sensors, including accelerometry and data processing, as well as cardiorespiratory fitness and muscular strength assessments. He currently works under the mentorship of Agustín Ibáñez and Hernán Hernández at BrainLat.
