I hold a PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology and Biomedicine from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, an MSc in Omics Data Analysis from the University of Vic and a BSc in Biomedicine from the University of Seville, Spain. My doctoral research at the Barcelonaβeta Brain Research Center focused on the role of biological aging, measured through telomere length, in brain health and Alzheimer’s disease, integrating genetic, biomarker and neuroimaging data to investigate the earliest stages of the disease continuum. Since 2022, I have also been teaching R programming and bioinformatics at the master’s level. Throughout my academic training, I completed research stays at the Centre for Genomic Regulation (Barcelona), Erasmus MC (Rotterdam), and Utrecht University (The Netherlands), where I broadened my expertise in epidemiology, multi-omics, causal inference and exposome research. I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the BrainLat Institute within the ReDLat Consortium, where I integrate and analyze large-scale social, clinical, cognitive and neuroimaging datasets to investigate how structural inequalities and lived environments influence brain aging and dementia risk. My research is characterized by a rigorous and holistic approach, integrating biological mechanisms with social and environmental determinants to better understand brain health across the lifespan. Ultimately, my goal is to generate evidence that informs prevention strategies, public health interventions and policies aimed at reducing the global burden of dementia. I particularly value multidisciplinary and international collaborations and enjoy working in diverse research environments that foster innovation and continuous learning.
